Each year we provided over 300 young people with over 2500 sessions in music and arts.

With weekly art & design, sound & lighting and guitar & drums session, monthly gigs and 6 weekly gallery art exhibitions, and one off projects exploring everything from mental health and World War One through performance art.

So many of our members have moved on to further education focusing on music and music technology and most are still performing regularly on the local or wider music scene.
We are still here for you!

We still have Rehearsal rooms and Recording opportunities - look on AAA Records tab for latest information.
Thanks for all your support and creativity- you still own this space so keep your ideas coming.

The General's Bongos!

Another sneak preview of a device i'm tampering with. These unique set of bongos was cast upon me to be circuit bent and modded for no one else but General Midi of a.P.A.t.T who you may also know as one of the sound engineers at The Studio!

I have made a few other improvements since this was filmed but as you can see here i have added a total of 3 juicy mods! First one is the must have pitch mod which basically alters the pitch and slows/speeds up the tempo of the sound. The second mod is a push button i installed to the pitch mod and another point on the circuit and when pressed it presents a strange out-of-world glitch noise which doesn't crash the circuit permanently.. only temporarily  (which is just grand!) The final mod is somewhat a distortion/volume control/LFO. When you listen to it you hear the volume rise and distort following into an LFO which is irreversible until you switch the device off and back on again.

These bongos are certainly a great device to mess around with and experiment and is my personal favorite yet.. but that's probably because i've succeeded in more than 2 mods without completely destroying the circuit haha!

Keep an eye for a follow up on further mods and hey if your lucky, when the mods are complete, you may even get a short vid of the General in action with the device!

Many Thanks And Enjoy!
